The Study Brief tab tells Verso what the research must answer. A clear brief keeps the interview focused and gives the report a useful structure.

What to include

  • Context: the market, prior research, constraints, and decision that follows.
  • Business question: the single decision this study should inform.
  • Research objectives: the questions the report must answer.
  • Audience and screening criteria: who should participate and what qualifies them.
Write objectives as questions. “Understand refill packs” names a topic. “What would make shoppers choose a refill pack?” gives the interview and report a result to work toward. Audience and screening criteria describe your intent. The form questions in the guide decide who qualifies in practice, so check that the two agree before launch.

Can I update the brief later?

Yes. The brief is not shown to participants, but changes can affect later analysis and the organization of the report. Keep it aligned with the decision your team is making.
