# Bring research across language barriers

> Make customer conversations accessible to teams working across markets.

Post-fieldwork translation helps teams analyze interviews from several markets in one shared language. It can cover transcripts, question text, structured answers and subtitles while keeping participant recordings in the language originally spoken.

## Decide whether it fits your study

Request translation when analysts need one working language across markets, or when stakeholders cannot read the fieldwork language. Keep the collected text in its original language when exact phrasing matters and the analysis team can work with it. Translated subtitle tracks may be enough when stakeholders only need to watch selected clips.

A full translation replaces the study's collected text. Agree which material to translate and how to preserve the original wording with your Verso contact before proceeding. Identify translated quotations clearly, and use the recording when tone or phrasing matters.

## Choose the right translation stage

[Languages and translation](/designing/languages-and-translation) prepares participant-facing study content before or during fieldwork and keeps translated versions beside the main guide.

Post-fieldwork translation applies to completed interview data for shared analysis. Ask your Verso contact which approach fits the stage and goals of your study.
