# Emotional analysis

Emotional analysis helps teams examine how a response is expressed as well as what a participant says. It considers observable cues across voice, words, and visual expression to identify moments worth reviewing in the original recording.

This can add useful context to concept tests, communications research, and experience studies. Researchers can explore moments of enthusiasm, hesitation, confusion, or tension, then compare those cues with the participant's language and the wider evidence base.

Read these cues alongside what participants say and the context of the interview. Culture and recording quality can affect expression; an observed cue is a starting point for interpretation, not proof of a person's internal emotional state.
